Emili Bargalló


Holding a BSc in Business administration and an MBA by ESADE Barcelona, Emili Bargalló has also coursed an Executive Development Programme (PDD) at IESE Business School. After holding several executive positions at multinational companies such as CH Werfen (IZASA,IL…) y AGFA Gevaert, he worked as manager at IDIBAPS, a biomedical research consortium, and Fundació Clínic, organisation that manages all researh related to the Clínic group.

Alvaro Perez-Moreno


M.Sc and Electrical Engineer from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), and M.Sc. (2011) in Biomedicine by the University of Barcelona (UB). Alvaro has more than 9 years of experience in developing medical technologies based on the application of image processing and artificial intelligence methods. He participated in the development of quantusFLM, the design of its specifications, the strategy definition of the technological protection and the regulatory affairs needed to transfer the technology into the market. Today, he is in charge of the technical department of the company, managing Transmural's scientist and engineers and all subcontractors.

Mara Domínguez

Service Manager

Telecommunications Engineer and MSc in Telemedicine and Bioengineering (UPM). Mara has more than 3 years of experience developing Medical technologies. At the moment, she acts as service manager for quantus FLM.

Xavier P. Burgos-Artizzu

Head of Research

B.Eng. in Computer Science and Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. With more than 10 years of experience working in several countries on the research of novel AI methods with applications to virtual reality, 3D animation, agriculture, biology and medicine, to name just a few. Author of several scientific publications and industrial patents.

David Coronado

Technical Product Manager

B. Eng. in Telecommunications from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Universitat de Barcelona (UB). Expert in medical technologies based on image processing techniques and artificial intelligence. David has more than 3 years of experience working at Transmural Biotech where he has been trained as developer and technical manager.

Adrian Rivera

IT Manager & Networking

Adrian, who hold a Double Higher Level Training Cycle in Telecomunications and Computer Science and Management of Computer Systems and Networks. Adrian has more than 3 years experience in IT project management and works in charge of all the IT of Transmural Biotech.

Business Developer

B.Sc. in Biology specialized in Health Biology (UAB) has developed business in the medical technology sector since 2014. With sales formation by Transmural Biotech, is responsible for quantusFLM implementation in the LATAM Market.

Estefania Del Alcazar

Business Developer

B.Sc. in Chemisrty" from the UB (Universitat de Barcelona). She has received an extensive training in Commercial Management and Marketing, developing her professional career in the medical sector. In the last five years she has specialized in the introduction and commercialization of new medical technologies in emerging markets

Eduard Gratacós

Scientific Advisor

Eduard Gratacós is the Head of Maternal-fetal Medicine Department at BCNatal (Hospital Clinic -Hospital Sant Joan de Déu) and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Previously, he was Head of the Fetal Medicine Units of the University Hospital in Leuven, Belgium (1999-2000) and the Hospital Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona (2001-2004). Member of Eurofoetus, the pioneering group in fetal surgery in Europe, he has participated in the design of several fetal treatments currently used, and has an experience of over 15 years and 1200 interventions in fetal surgery.

Montse Palacio

Montse Palacio is a consultant at the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Department of BCNatal (Hospital Clínic de Barcelona – Hospital Sant Joan de Déu) where she works since 2001. She holds a PhD degree in Medicine, and works as Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona. She was awarded a Fellowship for a subspecialization in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University College of London by “La Caixa”. Head of the Obstetric and High-Risk Obstetrics Wards and co-responsible of the Fetal Monitoring Unit, she created in 2006 the Prematurity Unit for the management of patients at risk. She has published a great number of papers in international and national journals and participates regularly as invited speaker at workshops and congresses.

Teresa Cobo

Dr. Teresa Cobo, MD PhD, is a member of the Prematurity Unit of the BCNatal Maternal-fetal Service (Hospital Clínic de Barcelona – Hospital Sant Joan de Déu) and a researcher of the Fetal and Perinatal Medicine Research Group (IDIBAPS - Universitat de Barcelona). Her research focuses on prediction and management of preterm birth, and more specifically on the prediction of intraamniotic infection/inflammation. She holds a PhD (2009) and has published several scientific papers in international journals with impact factor.
