Imaging Biomarkers

There is a huge number of diseases which are no diagnosable in initial phases, even though at this stage there are important tissue changes. This is due to the extreme finesse of this change which is not visible with the nowadays imaging technologies.

For this reason, it is necessary to ideate new conceptual paradigms and use them to develop new actuation strategies to solve the problems of previous technologies.  With this goal, the Quantitative Image Biomarkers appear. This is one of the most ambitious bets of our company.

Imaging Biomarkers were created as a logical opposition to the Molecular Biomarkers, which monitor a biological process through a biochemical analysis.

Thus, Image Biomarkers allow monitoring a biological process through imaging analysis, which imply a stable and repetitive measure form that minimizes errors.  

Applying this concept, Transmural Biotech has developed the technology AQUA (Automatic Quantitative Ultrasound Analysis), a brand that groups different technologies with a common aim: to convert ultrasound diagnostic as a reliable, repetitive and objective diagnostic system.
